We finally were headed back to Belfast. Back to my flat, my neighborhood, and most importantly, my bed. This was a fun day, as we visited two extremely historic institutions in Ireland. Those of course would be Newgrange and the Old Jameson Distillery.
Now, this wasn’t my first visit to the Jameson factory, but luckily for me, they updated it! It wa a lovely tour, and now everyone gets to go through the tasting at the end of the tour, so that was nice. Depending on what time of alcohol you like, I would almost suggest this tour over the Guinness Storehouse. But that also depends if you can down a Guinness in 15 seconds like I can… Oh wait. Not something to be proud of, exactly….
Right, moving on. More Jameson pictures!
On of the exciting things I did, having been to the old distillery before, was I bottled my own bottle of a high-proof black label special whiskey, that I am saving for graduation, or some other special occasion (first paid conducting gig?)
It’s like we had a child or something…
Next stop: Newgrange. Google it. Older than the pyramids, it’s a neolithic tomb that you can actually enter and experience what the solstice would be like inside (thanks to electricity and a little light). Each year, they have a drawing to take a small group of people into the tomb to experience the actual event.
We headed back to Belfast after this exciting day, and on Day 8, we hit the Titanic Museum. For the sake of keeping things simple, below are the pictures from Day 8 as well!
For those of you playing along at home, that’s Titanic Studios, where they film Game of Thrones.
And at long last, we come to the end of our trip. I can honestly say that I wouldn’t have traded the experience for anything, and there’s not a single person I would have rather been stuck in a tiny car with for 7 days. Thanks for the fun Christiana. Come back and visit soon! (Or I’ll come home eventually…)
